Does anyone here use a Checklist for morning routine? Or for any other personal reason?
Main Post:
I am currently half way through Dr. Atul Gawande's The Checklist Manifesto and I am inspired to make one for myself, especially for the Morning Routine. Since my interests are all over the place I find it difficult to focus on next actions voluntarily. Anyone like that here? How do you solve this problem?

A while ago I had a few procedure lists, prompting me to do basic routine stuff. But after some turbulence, I have yet to sit down and redo them. Mostly they were Before bed, getting up, bag packing, etc.
If you try searching for "Procedure list", "Protocol List" or "Flight checks" you'll get a better result than just "checklist". Though what I've found about this topic is sparse or even requiring a dig with the waybackmachine.
Gawande likes his story-telling, and the manifesto is nothing more than a book to make you want to use procedure lists. Derek Sivers said it most aptly in that the book is an article trying to be a book, read his most useful book notes.
The only thing I've learnt from the book that has utility: is the Do-Confirm or Read-Do paradigms.
I have personally developed some concepts like:
- numbered lists require going through each item one after the other, while bullets require no ordering.
- Object-state syntax. ie "lights - off", "teeth - cleaned". This makes the list the cleanest it can be
I'm yet to decide the best format but quite like index cards
Checklist
Main Post:
Hi there. My son is particularly forgetful but never forgets to check his phone (go figure!) before leaving the house for school so I want to create him a checklist so that he doesn't forget his lunch, keys, bus pass etc. I want to do it in Shortcuts as I want it to run some other bits when he's ticked everything off.
I just can't figure out how to get the Shortcut to require everything to be checked-off before the rest of the Shortcut runs...
Any ideas?

when you add more items to the list, make sure to change the if value to equal the number of items in the list.
Just put the other stuff you want to add after the show result (you have everything you need).

Awesome list - definitely saving this one!
I’ve noticed that you're missing the Team Rocket Blast-Off Outfit though.
You get this one by beating Jessie and James one more time after beating the elite four (at least I think that that's the requirement for it) on Pokémon Road (aka Route 17).

Reddit, what’s your checklist for moving?
Main Post: Reddit, what’s your checklist for moving?
Top Comment:
When moving to a new place I usually go:
Large rarely used items like books, pictures and large cookware
Next comes knick knacks, non essential kitchen wear and at least 1/2 my wardrobe.
After that I get my kids toys, leaving only a few of the most played with out for them to use.
While this is being done, my husband and friends are moving the least used/most bulky furniture and placing them in their rooms, but out of the way.
Day before the big move we pack as many of our essential items (rest of the clothes, food, toiletries, exc.) Leaving snacks, a change of clothes and toilet paper in an easily accessible bag separate from moving boxes.
All of our emotionally important things like my dad's guitar and family heirlooms are taken separately, usually in a car that people are riding in so that they can be protected from being smooshed by boxes
After moving in we unpack in reverse, the things we use the most and moving down to the things we use the least. Putting together beds and dressers is the first of the big things we work with and organize from there
